A special exhibition entitled “The Parisianer, Chronicles of Our Planet” opened at the Changsha Library on October 15, 2021, as part of the cultural exchange activities of the Franco-Chinese Month of the Environment 2021.
The exhibition is curated by the French National Museum of Natural History and the magazine cover team of The Parisianer. It brings to life the great naturalistic discoveries from the geological age to the future through a series of novel illustrations. Twenty-one covers shows the history of the earth and guide visitors tofind out important natural discoveries.
By transforming luminaries like Voltaire and Boufon into humorous drawings, the exhibition enlighten visitors what earth might look like in the future throught illustrations of sci-fi scenarios centered on melting ice caps and migration to Mars.
The friendship between China and France is long-standing and well-established. The French Consulate General in Wuhan has establishedclose contacts with Changsha since its beginning. The Changsha Library has alsomaintaineda long-term and friendly relationship with the French Consulate General in Wuhan with frequent and diverse cultural exchange activities, such as“Croisements Festival", "French Time in Changsha", and "Franco-Chinese Month of the Environment".
Following an exhibition themed "Insects that Save the Earth" in April this year, Changsha residents have once again embarked on a romantic, imaginative, yet rigorous and scientific journey.
The exhibition will run until November 15, 2021, and this exhibitionwill be on tour at the member libraries of Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Public Library Alliance.
Mr. Yann Moreau, science and technology commissioner of the French Consulate General in Wuhan, and Wang Ziyang, curator of the Changsha Library, jointly unveiled the exhibition. After the opening ceremony, Mr. Yann Moreau introduced the exhibition to visitors in French.
