“It is good to be back home.” “Thanks for all the fellows from the Hunan Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese. They devoted their precious time to guarantee our safety.” At March 27th, Peng Liu and his friends who just returned back to Changsha expressed these words from their hearts.
As the main person in charge of this return, Peng Liu, the chairman of Hunan business association at Ukraine, expressed his gratitude in many WeChat groups of returned overseas Chinese once again.

Since Russia-Ukraine conflict has occurred, the safety of overseas Chinese become the foremost concern. Hunan Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese immediately took emergency action and actively kept a contact with Overseas Hunanese at surrounding countries.
“Be cautious of personal safety. You can always contact us in needs, and we will assist you immediately.” Peng Shuai, a Chinese student at Ukraine, received many helps from home. They really moved him. “Even though we are separated by a distance, our hearts are always connected.”
Not only different organizations of Overseas Chinese were in close contacts, but also they made many WeChat groups, and thus published related information and latest news on this conflict.
Under the guidance of China embassy at Ukraine, this return within the WeChat groups of Overseas Hunanese at Ukraine was organized by many volunteers. Many fellows had moved to Poland, Romania, Moldova, Slovakia, Hungary and other surrounding nations.
Li Tiexuan, a Hunanese student at Ukraine, first transferred to Hungary in this return. Before taking the flight that went back home, he had one last step to complete—a proper COVID test.
At this moment, Li Tiexuan felt sick. After Hunan Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese knew about this fact, it contacted local organizations of overseas Chinese. With their cares and helps, Li Tiexuan passed the COVID test and stepped abroad the plane to home. The helps from overseas Chinese made Li Tiexuan feel warm and happy. He shared the money and food from them with other fellows in the plane.

In this return, Hunan Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese made many contacts with Chinese student and overseas Chinese based on information provided from Chinese student association.
From March 1st, Hunan Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese had established and guided the work unit of returning home from Ukraine. Most accurate and latest information are sent oversea to these Chinese who has not yet returned.
308 domestic members of the youth committee of Hunan Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, 146 oversea members of the committee, and 5000 members, who have oversea contacts, helped to spread this information with over 60 WeChat groups. So far, over ten people have successfully and safely returned back to China.
“Person who had gone through the rain are more willing to give umbrellas to others.” Zhou Yanchao, a oversea member of the youth committee of Hunan Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, gave up operating his business and organized a team of oversea Chinese at Slovakia. This team meticulously makes returning plans, prepares resources, and provides services in need.
This team has mobilized over 30 volunteers at Slovakia. It has accepted 286 oversea Chinese in needs, who includes a group of Chinese trapped in Sumy and the last group of 118 returnees. Twenty thousand Euros collected from donations are used for daily life of oversea Chinese and COVID tests.
So far, oversea Chinese and Chinese students have safely returned home. Next, Hunan Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese will keep follow latest updates of returned oversea Chinese and Chinese students and attempt to solve their current difficulties.
