In 2022, relevant departments of the Chinese government proposed creating a group of youth-oriented cities in China. Changsha is one of them, and it has made itself as a "youth-friendly city" with a goal as "Changsha being more friendly to young people, and young people thriving in Changsha". In recent years, a series of activities policies have been implemented with positive feedback among young people at home and abroad.
