今年是长沙尼依格罗酒店总经理甘思德来中国的第十个年头，从2012年第一次踏上这片土地，甘思德就深深地爱上了这里。在他看来，中国是一个非常杰出的国家，这里不仅十分美丽，而且还很安全，是一个非常繁荣的国度。

Michael Ganster, comes from Austria, and has been in China for ten years. He fell in love with the country when arriving in China for the first time. “China is an outstanding country, a beautiful country, a safe and flourishing country”, Michael says.

2012年，甘思德首次来到中国，刚下飞机，宽敞明亮的北京首都国际机场就给他留下了深刻的印象。机场内精致的装饰，机场外16条通往市中心的高速公路……这些细节和设施，都让甘思德深刻地感受到，中国比自己之前想象得要先进得多。

In 2012, Michael was impressed by the size of Beijing Capital International Airport and the 16 lane highway going into downtown. There were many modern malls full of luxury brands. Michael has realized how much more advanced China was than he thought.

“这十年来，我切身地感受到了中国正在发生一些非常积极的变化，随着中国经济的持续增长，越来越多的年轻人，有了更充沛的时间和更多的可支配收入，他们成为了我们酒店的忠实顾客，真正实现了身心自由，成为了乐享生活的旅行者。”

Michael says, “In the past ten years, I have witnessed the development of China, including the booming economy, with an increasing number of young people having more time and disposable income to do what they like and become affluent travelers. Many of these are our loyal Niccolo guests. ”

甘思德坦言，中国是一个有五千年文明历史的国家，在过去十年，他游览了中国很多城市，也感受到了中国文化的博大精深，最让他难忘景点是西安的秦始皇陵兵马俑，置身现场，兵马俑的宏伟壮观让他感到惊叹。此外，他还十分喜欢中国的京剧，第一次听京剧就爱上了它，为此，他还多次专门去北京欣赏京剧表演。

“China has a history of five thousand years”, beside the rapidly economic development, Michael has been attracted by the Chinese history and culture. In the past decade, he has visited many cities. Take Xian for example, he was impressed by magnificent Terracotta Warriors. In addition to that, he likes Beijing Opera very much and has witnessed it countless times.

甘思德来中国前，在欧洲、北美、中东、东南亚等多个国家和地区都有过工作经历，谈及自己十年前来中国的那次选择，甘思德笑着说：“从职业的角度来看，来中国绝对是一个最好的决定。中国是一个热情好客的国家，这里的人们都非常和善友好。在中国的这段经历，对于我来说，是一段非常棒的职业成长经历。”

Before coming to China, Michael’s professional hotel career saw him gaining experiences in Europe, North America, The Middle East and South East Asia. He said that the decision to come to China is the best choice in his career to date. In his mind, Chinese people are very friendly and warm hearted. “To having the opportunity to experience China and grow friendships and career are a true blessing”, Michael says.

未来，甘思德希望能够获得中国永久居留权，邀请在欧洲、美国和加拿大的家人、朋友们过来参观。等到退休后，他想一半时间待在奥地利，一半时间待在中国，因为他觉得奥地利和中国都是最棒的国家。甘思德还期望自己能够成为中国的宣传大使，让更多人来了解这个真实、精彩、繁荣的中国。

“I really hope to obtain the permanent resident status in China and then invite my family and friends who live in Europe, USA and Canada to visit this beautiful country. I even hope to spend my retirement equally in my home country and China, which is for me the best country I have ever worked in. I will continue to be an Ambassador for China and wish to bring the real, wonderful and prosperous China to a much larger audience.”
