去北京，看升旗。湘西十八洞村村民终于圆了长久以来的梦想。

Attend the flag-raising ceremony in Beijing. The villagers of the Shibadong Village in Xiangxi have finally realized their long-held dream.

8月18日，随着湘西边城机场的通航，对于曾经边远的十八洞村村民来说，在家门口打“飞的”，只需两个多小时就能到首都北京了。

On August 18, with the opening of the Xiangxi Biancheng Airport, the villagers of the once remote Shibaodong village, can take a plane at their “doorstep” and reach the capital Beijing in just over two hours.

次日清晨，65位村民一同前往天安门广场观看了升国旗仪式。村民们纷纷拿出手机，记录下这一激动人心的时刻。

The following morning, 65 peasants gathered in Tiananmen Square to witness the national flag-raising event. The folks grabbed their cell phones to capture this exciting moment.

他们中有七八十岁的老人，也有十多岁的孩子。对于其中很多人来说，只需两个小时便能便捷地“飞”到首都，曾是他们想都不敢想的事，十八洞村曾是深度贫困村，周围群山环绕，交通极其不便。随着“精准扶贫”实施以来，让这一切成为可能。

They include the old generation in their 70s and 80s and children in their teens. For many of them, the convenience of being able to take the plane to the capital in just two hours was something they had never dared to think about! Shibadong village used to be a severely impoverished village, surrounded by mountains, with extremely inconvenient transportation. With the implementation of the targeted poverty alleviation, this has become possible.

20日，首航北京的十八洞村民们返家了，他们由衷地感叹“世界与湘西更近了，我们在十八洞村等您来！”

On the 20th, Shibadong villagers return home after their first flight to Beijing, they heartily exclaimed "The world and Xiangxi getting closer, we are in Shibadong village waiting for you to come!"
