Shaping is known as "the hometown of folk cultural art in China" and is the birthplace of Xiang embroidery.

Xiang embroidery, which has a history of more than 2,000 years, is one of the "Four Famous Embroideries" in China. Fragments of embroidery from Chu tombs in the Warring States Period were unearthed in Changsha.

With needle as the pen, fiber as the paper and velvet as the color, Xiang embroidery creates very artistic flowers, birds, lions, tigers and figures with vivid and delicate visual effects.

At the beginning of the 20th century, Xiang embroidery won many awards in the world. In recent years, with the " Han-style clothing craze" and the prevalence of new media, there are new opportunities for the innovation and internationalization of Xiang embroidery.

As the National Intangible Cultural Heritage, the inheritance and promotion of Xiang embroidery rely on these diligent traditional craftsmen and craftswomen, as well as their spirit of perseverance. It’s also inseparable from the innovative development model combined with cultural creation.

We hope that Xiang embroidery will be known by more people in the future.

今天我们来到的是“中国湘绣之乡”沙坪镇。沙坪是湘绣的发源地，也被誉为“中国民间文化艺术之乡”。

已有两千多年历史的湘绣是中国“四大名绣”之一，长沙战国楚墓就发掘出了湘绣的刺绣残片。

以针为笔，以纤素为纸，以丝绒为颜色，湘绣通过丰富细腻的针法使绣出的花鸟、狮虎、人物等极具视觉效果，栩栩如生。

早在二十世纪初，湘绣就已经在国内外收获了众多殊荣。近年来，随着“汉服热”和新媒体的盛行，湘绣的创新融合和国际化推广有了新的机遇。

湘绣作为国家级非物质文化遗产，它的传承和推广离不开这些传统手工艺人的勤勉与坚持，也需要与文创相结合的创新发展模式。

期待在下一个春天，湘绣能被更多人熟知。
