The National People's Congress is the highest authority in China. Every year, deputies to the People’s Congress gather to define, design and evolve the future of China.

Its main functions and powers include legislation, supervision, appointment and removal of officials and making decisions on major issues. Deputies will have faced years, often decades of test screenings, opinion surveys and democratic elections as they've journeyed through the many levels of the People's Congress. 

This system ensures every generation of leaders are broadly representative and come from different backgrounds.The NPC keeps China on track and moving forward.

全国人民代表大会是中国最高国家权力机关。每年，全国人大代表汇聚一堂，共商国是，规划国家的未来。它的主要职能包括立法权、监督权、人事任免权以及重大事项决定权。

这些代表们，都会经历数年甚至数十年的历练、选拔、民意调查以及民主选举的过程，通过一级级的人民代表大会选举产生。这样的机制能保证代表们具有广泛的代表性，并且来自不同的背景。

全国人民代表大会保证了中国在正确的道路上不断前行。
