2500多年前,闻名于世的奇迹工程京杭大运河诞生,这条世界上里程最长、工程最大的古代运河,全程近1800公里,对当时的航运、农业经济发展作出了巨大贡献。
About 2500 years ago, The Grand Canal, the impossible Engineering at that time, was born in China.
The world's longest man-made waterway connects the present cities of Beijing and Hangzhou, being almost 1800 kilometers.
It played a key role to advance the development of agriculture, economy and shipping at that time.
Today,why we want to mention it again?
今年全国两会期间,湖南代表团拟提出《关于支持加快推进湘桂运河建设的建议》,湘桂运河一旦建成,将有效缩短长江中上游地区货物至北部湾水运里程,充分发挥水运的资源优势、生态优势和经济优势,推动我省运输结构调整、降低社会物流成本。成为湖南对外开放的第二条出海战略通道。
During the period of Two Sessions, Hunan delegation plan to submit the motion on accelerating the construction of canal which connects the provinces of Hunan and Guangxi.
It will shorten the distance between the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River and Guangxi north bay waters.
It will make full use of waters advantages to protect environment and save delivery cost.
It will optimize the pattern of Hunan's transportation.
除了关于湘桂运河的建议,湖南代表团还拟向十四届全国人大一次会议提出,涉及支持长株潭培育建设国家区域科技创新中心、系统推进洞庭湖保护与治理、支持湖南重大交通项目、能源建设等7件建议。
Beside the canal, Hunan delegation plan to submit motions on various issues, including supporting Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan to develop the national center for technology and innovation together, promoting regulation and protection of Doting Lake, supporting the development of Hunan transportation and advancing energy construction in our province.
