Accompanied by lively music, young performers tossed and caught straw hats with ease and precision during the opening of the "Pure China · Splendid Xiaoxiang" acrobatic show at the National Theatre of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic on May 1th. 

        浑身解数如花锦，双手腾那似辘轳。5月1日晚，轻快的音乐伴随着青年演员们精湛的招式，“纯粹中国·锦绣潇湘”杂技演出在多米尼加首都圣多明各的国家大剧院拉开帷幕。

 The "Pure China · Splendid Xiaoxiang" acrobatic show at the National Theatre of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic on May 1th. 

To celebrate the 5th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Dominica, Hunan Acrobatic Art Theater Performance Troupe brought a feast of art to over 1,000 distinguished guests including representatives from all walks of life in Dominica, Chinese-funded institutions and overseas Chinese. This was the first Chinese cultural group to visit the Dominican Republic since COVID-19 and the first cultural exchange group from Hunan Province in three years.

        为庆祝中多两国建交五周年，湖南省杂技艺术剧院演出团当晚为多米尼加各界友人、中资机构和华侨华人代表1000余人带来一场艺术盛宴。这是新冠疫情后多米尼加迎来的首个中国文艺演出团，也是疫情三年来湖南省派出的首支对外文化交流团。

Chinese Ambassador to the Dominican Republic Chen Luning, Dominican First Lady Raquel Arbaje, former President Hipólito Mejía and others attended the event. During his opening speech, Ambassador Chen stated, "Five years ago today, China established diplomatic relations with the Dominican Republic. Today, Chinese artists offer a wonderful performance as a special gift to China-Dominican Republic friendship." 

        中国驻多米尼加大使陈鲁宁和多米尼加总统夫人阿尔巴赫、前总统梅希亚等出席活动。陈鲁宁在开场致辞时说：“五年前的今天，中国同多米尼加建交。今天，中国艺术家以精彩演出为中多友好献上特别礼物。”

The acrobatic show impressed the audience with over ten breathtaking performances, such as flipping bowls on a board, flying and dancing in the air on a suspended hoop, playing with everyday items using their toes, and imitating various sounds with their mouths. The performers balanced softness with strength and humor with boldness, earning thunderous applause and praise from the audience. 

舞台上，青年演员们尽情施展才华，时而诙谐风趣，时而奔放洒脱。既有在晃板上翘碗、在高空吊环中盘旋飞舞的惊险表演，又有用足尖玩转日常生活用品、以口技模仿各种声效的巧妙呈现，十几个精彩绝伦的杂技节目让人们目不暇接，引来阵阵惊叹和掌声，将现场气氛推向一次次高潮。

Spectators were thoroughly impressed.

"Seeing the Chinese performance group come all the way here again makes me feel very close," said Zhang Yuehui, a Dominican overseas Chinese to the reporter. "I hope more Chinese cultural groups will come here for exchange."

“再次看到远道而来的中国演出团，真是感到非常亲切。”多米尼加华侨张跃辉难掩兴奋之情，“希望越来越多的中国文艺团体来这里交流。”

 After the show, performer Cao Zhiqiang said that he was happy to bring the Huxiang-style acrobatic performance to the Dominican Republic and convey friendship through cultural exchange, feeling the warm and friendly atmosphere of the local audience in his first visit to the country.

演员曹志强在当晚演出结束后告诉记者，自己是首次来到多米尼加，感受到“这里的观众非常热情和友好”，很高兴将具有湖湘特色的杂技表演带到当地，通过文化交流来传递友谊。
